You Can Help Build CommunityScape!
If you were a part of building RioScape or wish you had been, you won’t want to miss this!

What is “CommunityScape” in the Discovery Pavilion?
You and your students can help build community spirit while you build “CommunityScape,” the first part of the Museum’s exciting new Discovery Pavilion. This will be a hands-on, creative, team-building, skill-building, imaginative and inspiring event that you will not want to miss!

This is your chance to be a part of creating imaginative, interactive exhibits and a mezzanine to be built under the guidance of creative artist and designer Tom Rockwell, grandson of famous American artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell.

When is it?

There will be two Work Weeks in the “Big Build” of CommunityScape:

Jan 30 – Feb 3, 2002
Feb 20 – Feb 24, 2002

Sign Up Today!

How can I participate?

Adults and Teens (ages 15 and up) are encouraged to sign up for the Work Weeks (see form on back page).

Students and Teachers are encouraged to:
1. Recycle old or unwanted brightly colored china, ceramics & pottery for the Mosaic of “CommunityScape.” Classes can compete for Free Admission to the Museum. Contact Matilde Caceres-Zelinger for details (682-1564, ext. 121).

2. Submit prototypes of textures, artwork and inventions for use in the planning process (specifications available on request).

3. Have a “Nickel, Dime or Quarter” drive to raise funds to help make the fabulous hands-on exhibits of the Discovery Pavilion possible.
